Question: What is message on hold?
Answer: 'Message On Hold' is an audio program of music and informational messages about your company that plays into your phone system. Callers who need to be placed on hold listen to it while waiting to be helped. This contemporary marketing and imaging tool is replacing radio, background music, and dead silence on-hold as a means to cross-promote and educate callers about your business.
Question: Is Free-Mar a franchise?
Answer: Absolutely not! Free-Mar was established in 1989 as a full-service 'Message On Hold' facility. We write the scripts, record the productions in our own studio, use licensed background music, and offer a choice of professional male and female announcers. Reliable digital equipment for playing programs is also available from us.
Question: Can I use 'Message On Hold' with my phones?
Answer: If you have a phone system with what is known as 'Music On Hold' capabilities, you can. For those using something on-hold now, such as a radio or just background music, your 'Message On Hold' program would replace it. If you are unsure of your capabilities, we can usually help you to determine it, or you can check with your phone vendor.
Question: How often do I get a new program?
Answer: That's up to you. We offer clients the choice of purchasing one program at a time, or an annual package of regular changes. After learning more about your business, we can help you to decide the type of service you need.
Question: How long will it take to get my programs?
Answer: The process begins with gathering informaton about your company to be used in script writing. Each program contains 8 to 9 different messages. Once written, the script is submitted to you for approval or changes. Once approved, your program is usually produced within one business week.
Question: What type of equipment is needed?
Answer: There are several options. We provide programs on specially prepared cassette tapes to use in digital announcers, regular cassette tapes to play in tape equipment, or on compact discs. The only equipment that is available from us is a digital auto-load. You can use your own equipment.
Question: How much does 'Message On Hold" cost?
Answer: That depends on how often your business will need to change it, or to get a new program. By submitting our information request form or calling us, we can recommend one of our packages.
Question: Do I need to obtain rights to music used on programs?
Answer: Not with Free-Mar. We use a production music library of licensed music selections. All 'Message On Hold' productions contain licensed music.
Question: Who installs this to my phone system?
Answer: In our local geographical area, we do. Many of our clients have installed it themselves with our assistance, or your phone vendor can. If you are already using something on-hold, your 'Message On Hold' would replace it, and is usually easy to do yourself.
